I designed this layout to commemorate, remember and honor an amazing woman: My Grandmother (Z’L). My Grandmother passed away 3 weeks ago and she is truly missed by our whole family. She was a vivacious woman who at her age read 2 books a week, learned how to use email, Internet, facebook and kindle. She loved to cook, bake and most of all go to the Casino. She was a pioneer, a soldier, a wife, a mother, a grandmother and a great-grandmother.
This picture was taken a month before she passed away. I debated whether or not to print this picture in Sepia to match it to these Bo-Bunny papers. However I wanted to keep the picture as it was and to remember the colour and complexion of her skin. I wrote in the corner “Always remembering you, wishing you were here with us, missing you so much, you were an amazing woman”
It still feels odd that she’s not here. She was a strong presence in our lives and sometimes I forget she’s gone.
I hope that with this layout generations to come will be able to see her and remember her even if they didn’t know her. Her legacy lives on.
I used a sketch from the Bo Bunny Blog and the Bo Bunny Timepiece papers. I love that family tree in the background. I love trees in general with lots of branches the way this one is. I thought these papers fit the theme perfectly. I also used a beautiful vintage frame from Dusty Attic and a flourished chipboard from AtoZ Scraplets. The flourish has 3 little birds on it. I thought it was beautiful. As a finishing touch, I used a piece of a crocheted doily that my grandmother gave me a couple of months ago when she was cleaning up her closet. I cut out a border and a doily out of it and used it on this layout as a memory.

May you never feel sorrow in your lives,
Wishing you health and happiness always
