What a face

I’m really excited to announce that I’ll be a Guest Designer for two blogs this month aside from my DT at Sketchabilities I’ll be designing for The Paper Variety and My Scrapbook Nook. Stay tuned to see all my 3 layouts.
I’m also super excited about this layout. Here is a sneak peak!! look below….
I used lots of different mixed media techniques on it. I bought Gesso and spread it on the black page. I used Graphic 45 papers and lots of recycled cardboard paper. The chipboard border is from dusty attic. I really distressed all the edges and sanded the picture to give it a very cool worn out effect. At the bottom I used a Tim Holtz film strip over some index prints and then put a decorative metal frame around it. I used cardboard  and chipboard letters for the title. I also journaled on the white gesso.
I used a sketch by Nadia Cannizzo from Once Upon a Sketch (see below). I love her sketch challenges and I’m always up for the challenge. The journaling criteria was to describe “a perfect day…”
I also used this layout for another challenge blog. This is my first time uploading a layout for 123 Challenge blog but I’m sure I’ll be participating in their challenges more and more. The August 123 Challenge was to use these 3 things on a layout: 1) Black, 2) The word WHAT, 3) Multiple photos.
I used lots of black on the page. I also used a main photo plus a row of index prints as the multiple photo criteria. I called the layout “What a face”.
1…2…3.. Done!!
Finally, I also found another Blog Challenge called Get Creative. Their August challenge was to use 8 embellishments. I believe I definitely meet their criteria here: I have a chipboard border, a metal frame, cardboard paper, chipboard letters, film strip, a button, a felt flower, clown face cutouts and film tickets.
It was so much fun doing this layout. I love using and designing with mixed media. There is so much I still want to learn so I can experiment even more!!
Here is what the journaling says:  “A perfect day is a day I can spend with you. I took this picture at a Tim Hortons near our house. You were making all kind of silly faces but I love this perfect shot of you looking away from me. What a face!! I just adore it and I want to spend every day looking at it!”
Thank you so much for visiting my blog!!
