Altered black canvas- Flying Unicorn Mixed Media Art Kit

This month, the Flying Unicorn Mixed Media art kit included a black canvas and it was so much fun altering it.

I created the background using some white paint and the 6×6 The Crafter’s Workshop stencil that came in the kit. I also used matte gel medium to adhere some cut-up elements from the FabScraps papers that came in this month’s kit.

I used different kinds of Prima metal embellishments such as light fixtures (from the kit), gears and clocks. Most of the metal embellies were painted in white paint. I also added some matching Prima flowers to enhance the texture.

Finally I used some chalkboard journaling cards as canvas layers and as a title.
