Here is another mini album I’ve recently finished. I love how it turned out but its just too much work. I love the way mini albums look but I rather make layouts because its faster. I spent hours embelishing this album. A few months ago I attended a class to learn how to work with metal. Although I knew some of the tecniques, its always good to learn new tricks from someone else. During the class I assembled the pages for this mini- album and left it blank for a while. I used papers from Bo-Bunny Timepiece and Gabrielle, Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden and some old looking papers. I love the colors and theme of this layout.
I wanted to make a mini-album about a party I had 2 years ago in which I celebrated LIFE with most of my family and close friends. In the year 2000 I had a liver transplant and got a second chance at life. In the summer of 2010 I decided to have a party and thank G-d for giving me another chance at LIFE and thank all the people close to me for being in my life. This album represents that event. It took me this whole past week to embellish it (hence I haven’t posted any layouts) however I’m quite pleased with the results. Unfortunately you will not be able to see it fully because I’m not including pictures of other people (to protect their privacy) I only included pictures of my immediate family and of my grandmother (Z.L). So if you see blank cardstock, its where the pictures ought to be. One of my favourite embellishments is the metal flower in the front. It is embossed and painted with alcohol inks. Then I added feathered leaves behind it. The message in the book is obvious: I’m thankful, blessed, grateful for everything that has been given to me in my life by both G-d and the close people in my life.
I’m using this mini-album for a challenge for Scrap for help. I used a lot of recycled materials for this layout: I used packaging material for matting, I used and old doily of my grandmother’s crochet. I used music sheets and finally I used old necklace charms as decorations on the outside. The theme for SFH is something that makes you happy. This album fits this theme perfectly because Life makes me happy and blessed and grateful!!
