Recently I was contacted by a very nice Russian friend and she asked me if I wanted to be a guest designer on their blog. Their blog showcases many different types of arts and she wanted me to teach some scrapbooking techniques in the form of a tutorial to their followers.
The idea is to make a scrapbook album about travel and showcase 1-2 layouts a month on their blog.
Although a lot of their members are amateur scrappers I thought it would be the perfect opportunity for me to teach them about my favorite art.
I decided to scrapbook a few of my pictures from our recent trip to Florida.
I have a series of beach pictures of my kids so I will showcase layouts using these pictures in the next few months.
This is an ongoing project and the winner of this project challenge gets a fantastic prize.
Check out their blog for details.
Here is the first one and a Build a Page tutorial on how I made it.
I used the left over circles from the 2 Crafty Crazy Circle frame. I think I used this frame in 3-4 different layouts as its so versatile.
I used 7 Dot Studios papers for this layout.
I used 2 different Shimmerz sprays to enhance the colors of the 7 dots paper.
I used this layout to enter a challenge at 7 Dots Studio. the challenge is to use cool colors on a project. I’ve used cool colors for a beach layout.
I used a 6×6 Crafter’s Workshop Template along with some Martha Stewart Textured effect to add polka-dots to the layout.
Here are some close-ups of the final product
Materials Used:
Papers: 7 Dots Studio
Flowers: Recollections, Petaloo, Colorbok,
