For my birthday giveaway press here
It was my sister’s birthday yesterday and I gave her the layout I made of the 3 of us with the Scrap That July Kit so she can hang it up on her wall. She lives abroad and does not see us as often so I thought it would be a beautiful keepsake.
Well as soon as my parents saw it, they immediately told me they wanted one too. So I decided to make one for them as well and here is the result.
I decided not to use this layout for any of my DT assignments and instead I used inspiration from 2 challenges.
The first one is from Once Upon a Sketch blog. I used their sketch and journaled about friendship. The journaling is on a tag, hidden behind the doily. It says: “We were born as sisters, We’ve grown up as friends, Great friends”
I made up the quote although I bet its out there somewhere. I just liked it so much because it holds true for us.
The other challenge I incorporated in this layout is a challenge at Donna Salazar’s blog. The challenge is to use an item that is not generally used for scrapbooking. I incorporated cheese cloth and doilies into my layout. I love using them because they give the layout a very soft look. I used the Botanique collection from DS. Its so soft and beautiful. I love it so much!!
